Hineni was originally choreographed in 2017 at Indiana University as part of the evening length work Here, I Am (the English translation of the Hebrew word Hineni). Elizabeth reworked the duet section of the evening length work with dancers Lydia Soueidan and Sarah Gottfried. The duet is a contemporary dance narrative that explores the ins and outs of a developing relationship during the modern era. The audience takes a look into the fragmented memories of the dancers, moving forward and back in time. The piece plays with concepts of connection, detachment, distance, time, space, intimacy, and dependency. 'Here I am' at this point in time. 'Here I am' at this given place. 'Here I am' with you. 'Here I am' without you.
